Sounds pretty much like me. I have a 66 and a 70 (my workhorse) and 2 Supras ('68 402 and '64 400). I'm a fanMike - this 64 has a serial number of 65304. I have found an affordable muffler from a forum member but it's white. The hoops are later steel ones. It's no minter but it'll be a great player.

yep-that's a 64 Andrew. white felts came out in the beginning of 65, so that's cool either way. you could always find you just the arm with the red felt if it bothered you. thanks for the info. sounds like a neat snare.

Here's my Acro family with a MINT first generation on left. I also have a player & a mint one from each decade. L-R Pre serial keystone 1st gen, 3/23/66 player, 5/12/66 MINT, 69 player(drilled for B/O badge but keystome was put on, note how it sits higher) 9/15/71 player, late 1975 MINT.The player drums are about 9 out of 10 as well. I love me some Acrolites.BTW, I'm looking for the NYC Board of Ed 6.5 x 14 one if anyone has one to sell. ;-)

very nice! those look great. i'm crazy about acrolites as well. as soon as I get through with a restoration on a recent one, i'm gonna try to do a little write up and pics of mine. ive got lighter side of 20 different ones including 1st generations, crimped bed ludalloy,10 lug keystone and 10 lug b/o in 5". also a keystone 6.5 and b/o 6.5 nyc bd of ed models, 10 lug blacro and a 6.5 blacro. ive been working hard on acquiring these.

mark I recently picked up a 69 like yours as well. keystone badge on a shell meant for b/o. good transition stuff. ive got a keystone supra with the same situation.

also have the 8 lug supras now in keystone and b/o badge..

nice to see some fellow acro enthusiasts..

damn dude! I'd LOVE to see those 6.5 pics. There is a 10 lug on Feebay right now for 550. Do you know the story on those? It's from 72. Here's a link: http://http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-LUDWIG-1972-B-O-10-LUG-ACROLITE-SNARE-DRUM-5-X-14-LM404-NICE-/161240383844?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276

don't know the story on the 5" 10 luggers at all. my keystone model was sold at a Ludwig dealer up north. they later bought it back and the owner kept it and used it in his studio. ive got some nice history with that one. I don't have any history on my b/o model though.my 5" 10 lug b/o model has no serial number on the badge. my 6.5 keystone is super nice and came from a forum member. my b/o 6.5 has been well used, but is very neat.

here is the keystone 6.5 model. i'm finishing up the b/o 6.5 right now.

Mikey - If that 6.5 Acro ever goes up for sale, I'd like first crack at it! I'm so sorry I sold mine. Sweet drum!

John

Too many great drums to list here!
