Even gaskets isn't going to fix that awful splay. Oddball is right, replacement tube lugs and gaskets would help. Beautiful shell!John

I reckon for what it is, the shell is way undersize... It's a stuffed up shell... machined too small.. and with a bad attempt at salvage.. It could be fixed with removal of the lugs and a floating common centre hoop.. ( proper free floating design ).

All the Wood Stock drums I`ve seen had no drilling and free floating design. Not floating head design.
I just looked around and saw some,...not ludwig lugs though.
So looked quite a bit. Can`t find another snare drum by this company.
I learned a new term in this thread: "Splay".
I guess I could be the anti-Bob Barker and close my reply with:
"Please remember to help control the snare drum population by having your lugs NOT splayed or non-centered".
