Hi everyone its been a while since I have visited this forum. I'am an old thumper still playing my ludwigs. My first onstage kit was a very cheap set of premier golden sparkle drums. They didn.t last very long so about 1970 I purchased a 4 piece set of black oyster pearl or oyster black pearl(don.t know the proper reference) ludwig drums plus a superphonic snare and all Zildjian cymbals and ludwig hardware for $676.32. I still have them and they have been restored. I still love them but don.t play them much as I look at them as heirlooms to be handed down to my son. I am now playing Gretch drums. Now to my Question! In 1984 I purchased a set of wine silk double bass 11 piece(all the toms were suspended)anniversary ludwigs for my son. I had made him a promise that when he became better then me I would buy him any set of drums he wanted. He became better than me as a SENIOR in high school(rudiments). This set was (I believe the same color as Near Perts with rush). I paid $2577.12 (lot of money in the Early 80s)for the set plus hardware and cymbals. (Zildjian) This set may not be considered VINTAGE but I am trying to get all the info I can as I am now in the restoration process for this set.I have all the ID numbers for them (except for the snare which doesn;t have any numbers) All drums have the Keystone label of the 80s. Can anyone give me more information on this set. I have not been able to locate ID numbers from the internet only up to about late 70s. I believe these are the 75th? anniversary set. As soon as I learn how to post pictures I will. (not to good on the computor) TMTM
