Wilson Brothers Snare Drum Last viewed: 20 seconds ago

This drum is in excellent condition.

The only thing I did was clean it up (mostly just washed it off) and put new calfhide heads on the original wood flesh-hoops. The wood counter hoops are beautiful. Everything on the drum is original as far as I'm able to find out.

It's a 16" drum that was United States Navy (USN) inventory at one time. I contacted the US Navy and I got an answer from two US Navy personnel in Washington DC - top brass folks.

Update: I've decided to take it off the market for now

Thanks for looking

Fantastic drum. For reference, Guitar Center near me has a 1920's Wilson snare (all metal). It looks like crap compared to your drum, and they are asking $999. Another GC in Calif is asking $650 for their Wilson.

Best of luck on your sale.

I had no idea on the pricing of my drum but it looks like I might be a little too low - ya think?

Thanks for the reply

If the pricing of your drum was low or even priced right, it would have sold by now. These days there is more to chose from at lower prices. This makes potential buyers much more discerning.

If the pricing of your drum was low or even priced right, it would have sold by now. These days there is more to chose from at lower prices. This makes potential buyers much more discerning.

Every time you come here it is to blast someone for overpricing, underpricing or forgetting to place an honest price, which a few days ago was the case on another thread. When you aren't blasting people for their own goods, priced as they see them for sale with the opportunity to make offers, you attack them for telling stories. I know this as I am one of your victims.

You are toxic to this site. Please, leave us alone. You attack almost everyone with whom you come in contact here and on the other sites you haunt. Nothing but negative comments. Please, go away. We have enough troubles with the economy without a dick like you spreading your manure around.

Now, I know you will attack me about my choice of collections, so let me just say everyone that REGULARLY posts here respect each other and we work together to ensure most people that come here looking for real information get what they need, not some negative b ulls hit from people like you.

Why do you do this?

It is none of your business what, when, why or how we conduct ourselves on this site. It is here for the preservation of information, for the people of the future, not for people like you to go shopping on an irregular basis and mess with people that are here doing what this site is designed for, spreading information, not your personal shopping channel. Or doing other than pleases you, such as telling stories and passing down lore, whether folk or otherwise.

If you don't understand the purpose of this site, please ask the moderators and/or owners to enlighten you. Once again, it not designed as your own personal shopping network, but for the preservation of information, primarily, to save all the information we can for future generations of drummers to research and understand what they have inherited and/or been charged with keeping sacred as another generation of preservationists and restorationists. Now, if you have a problem understanding my explanation, ask the owners and operators to explain it to you.

Other than that, most of the community find you toxic, not a contributor but a detractor.

Yep, non-supportive comments on For Sale threads are just plain rude.

If it happened on a used car lot without the buffer of cyber-space protecting the sour puss poster, there would be physical conflits galore.

Hmmmmmm, yepper !!!

It may take a bit of time to find the right buyer, but I'm thinking that the drum is worth more than $500. I travel a fair amount and always stop in at GCs to check out their used gear. I've seen (and bought) items that were obviously priced too low and have also seen the opposite. In either event, Craigslist seems to bring out a fair share of low-ball offers and may not be the best outlet to sell your drum. An ebay listing with high quality pictures would tell you for sure.
