Is he getting paid for this? I usually don't play more than a song or two without expecting to get paid.

Damn! Not bad for a 60 year-old! And it's all for charity?

Good man, good soul.

135 hours of drumming with only a few short breaks? That's over five and a half days, around the clock!! I couldn't sit on my couch watching football for 5 days straight let alone do something that requires me to move! Anyone here think they could do it?

Robyn,

I'm sure by the 5th day, his drumming ain't so pretty either. I picture him face down on his snare with just his right hand hitting quarter notes on the floor tom. Still counts as a drum solo though.

Listen to what the news reporters are saying in the background. It's for charity, a drum marathon for disaster relief. He's raising money for the Red Cross. Sure, he gets publicity for breaking a Guinness record, but he's also raising money to help people that lost everything they had on earth to the whims of Nature.

That's why I signed off my post with... 'Respect.' I have deep respect for people like this drummer, that will put themselves through a wringer in order to draw attention to the plight of others. How many of us can stand on our feet and play for 5 days straight for one of our favorite causes?

Humanitarian. 'Big-Heart.'

That's so cool! My bands have always gifted gigs for various fundraisers, but never more than a few hours with regular set breaks. What an amazing gesture of goodwillBowing If he gets some publicity, maybe even some paid gigs out of this, it is called a symbiotic relationship. He doesn't get publicity without playing for so long and the Red Cross doesn't gain a gift of charity without a lot of publicity for his hours and hours of playing. I can't imagine playing poorly for 24hrs, let alone 100+.

Drummers are good people Clapping Happy2
