I finally got my kit re-wrapped in silver sparkle. After painting them and then staining them, I bought wrap from Jammin Sam and finished late last night. This is the first time I've re-wrapped a whole kit and it came out great. Don't believe all the negativity about taping drums as opposed to glueing. It's not messy, went on easily and the drums sound as good if not better than they did before I re-wrapped them, plus it was only $155 to wrap the whole kit and that's including shipping. Now I just need to find two b/o badges. Anyone?

Is the tape method fully adhered ? Or just at the seams ?

JR, the kits looks great! And, I agree about the tape method...couple of experiences I've had it worked really good.
Jammin Sam would be taped at the seams. :D
That is correct, taped only at the seams, now I can't determine the durability, but I can say that the sound was not altered at all. I did re-wrap a Ludwig 3ply floor tom using the Jammin Sam tape method a few years ago and had the drum for about a year with no cosmetic issues. That's why I wasn't hesitant to re-wrap this kit the same way.
Just for giggles....
The first two are with the dw floor tom and the next two are with the Ludwig 6ply floor tom.
That kit look really nice. Well done.
I think JS pushes the tape method because;
A) it is a lot wiser and cleaner which makes the process fairly painless thus improving sales.
B) I would imagine that Sam had enough complaints with users messing up with gluing that he decided to avoid that completely. I bet there were plenty of customers who assumed he owed them replacement wrap if they messed up. I may be mistaken.
I have taped three or four snares that came out OK. One thing I found that helped tighten up the wrap was to install lugs as I drilled the wrap. I found that to give me a much tighter fit. I think it is glue for me from now on though.

Nice job! I just finished a Club Date rewrap in JS Red Sparkle and I am happy with the results. Are you planning to install inlays on the hoops as well?
