Trying to figure how to get this clutch off of these hats, the inside nut (or lack of) doesn't loosen up from the threaded upper part of the clutch, any help?

Here is the top of the clutch, the other pic is inside the hats. Maybe I have this in the wrong section?

I don't have an answer but the top looks more like something that Rogers would have made.

Looks like that Pin/Rivet on the underside may be a mod of some sort.. If you can pull the pin (so to speak) that may be the answer...

Cheers

There's no trick to it! It's just a simple trick.

Rockiezz!

That is indeed a HYBRID clutch .. meaning .. it is a Rogers top/center thread, with a who knows WHAT bottom portion. I suspect the person that owned this "clutch" was having a problem with it loosening all the time, hence the "pin" that might go through the center threaded portion? Regardless, if you can't find a way to remove said "pin"... get a Dremel tool or a hack saw and carefully cut the clutch off, and then get another one that is complete and in working condition, and you should be good to go. You can cut it off between the felt and the bottom portion with the Dremel or hacksaw.

Thanks for the hints, I will take a gentle pair of pliers to it tonight, the hi hat stand that came with this hot mess is a WFL Flat Base Speed King and I'm going to clean that up, I was hoping this was the correct clutch and WF Ludwig was an engineering master! Wish me luck!
