Sorry bro. I hear you, no no that was not meant in that way. I meant to outline there is seriousness in my choices, and that right now this pedal isn't working out for me, and not just because I'm some sort of SK hater. I really have bought one and wanted it going on. Anyway I'm going down the Roy Haynes route thanx to you and I've put it back on to my practice kit for now, and I'm going to live with it to see if I can break it in a bit. I know the mechanix guys re-lube the whole thing so it might just be a bit tight. I'm concerned that they replaced the footplate pin/axle with a long bolt in an attempt at fixing the squeak issue, but it seems to be coming loose. I'll keep you posted.
No problem. I didn't mean at all to try to force you back to the Speedking and I can absolutely understand that this pedal is not for everyone. I like my SK really loose, just a couple of turns in on the spring tension screws. And as of late, I have started using it as a "longboard" (i.e. with the heelplate attached to the pedal board).
