What would you pay for the following Ludwig / WFL drums Last viewed: 15 minutes ago

And if they were Ludwig keystone as apposed to WFL they'd be twice as expensive as the nicer sounding WFL shells? Why is that?! If I had to chose a WFL Super Classic over a Ludwig Super Classic of course I'm going to go for the WFL shells. Today the Ludwig USA Legacy Mahogany is a reissue of the WFL shell construction and probably Ludwig's most expensive outfit. I don't understand why the 3 ply shells with the mahogany interiors aren't as desirable as the Ludwig 60's keystone maple / poplar / maple

I think $300 is a little low on the bass drum to be honest. You can barely buy a badly pitted Supraphonic for that price. That's a rarer type WFL bass drum being that it's 14 x 20. We all know they were usually 22" and up. You're about right with the rack tom though.

Why did you ask then?

Who knows or cares why people like one 3ply shell over another, just play what you like and don't worry about desirability or value.

If the pedals were WFL I'd keep them with the BD & Tom at around 600-650..

But seeing they are not, I'd sell them separate... and sell at the going rate for pedals..

FT I would part out anyway... Ebay "sold" listings will give you some idea.

Good luck with the sale..

John

Because I'm not having much luck selling it and I'm starting to think that WFL should be half the price of 60's keystone because nobody cares about them. I'm trying to get 800 dollars out of the above mentioned stuff.

I asked for opinions. I don't have to agree with what you have to say.

I know why most people prefer a Ludwig keystone. It's a more recognizable brand. Nothing to do with the sound.

The market is atrocious for vintage drums now. Just is. Unfortunately.
