I've made a few scores over the years but probably my greatest was trading a set of CB700s for my Club Dates.

1971 Ludwig Rock Duo set in Blue Oyster Pearl
early Mapex dual bass drum Saturn kit
1964 Leedy Ray  Mosca kit in Blue Sparkle
1959 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa snare in WMP
1968 Slingerland Hollywood Ace Snare Drum
1969 and 1977 Ludwig 400 Supraphonic snares
1965 Acrolite snare
Ludwig Coliseum snare
'68 Rogers Dynasonic snare
Pearl free floating piccolo snare
13" Mapex piccolo snare
6.5" deep Mapex steel snare
Mapex 6.5" Brass snare
I know there's more snares than that.
UFIP cymbals / Avedis Zildjians
Ghost pedals or Tama King Beats

have to say my skb blue note i flipped them and do miss the heavy sound they had....

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Wow! Some of these deals have me cringing!Walking

I've had a few of my own over the years, start with recent first;

1960 COB Ludwig Super Sensitive - was only partially there. Shell, lugs and muffler. Bought it for $10, sold it on fleaBay for $177.50

2000 Mapleworks full drum kit - was just awful! Paid $350 for them. Cleaned & polished the chrome, lightly sanded and poly'd the shells, new skins. Sold off the hardware that came with it. I'm into them for about $600 on a $2000 drum kit that sounds awesome!

Several other snares I've bought and sold in the past:

Solid/Select - 4x14 Cocobolo, only 3 made by Johnny C. Bought for $1300, sold for $2100

Dangerous Ocheltree 5x14's - had two of them. Bought one for $450, sold it for $1000, the other bought for $750 sold for $1500. Awesome drums, should have kept one, they are very rare and hard to find.

Drum Kits
1965 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Blue
1966 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Black
1969 Ludwig BB Blue Oyster Keystone Clubdate
1971 Ludwig BB Black Oyster
Early 60's Camco Oaklawns Champagne Sparkle

My best score was finding this forum the day I found my first old Slingerlands. ;) Thanks mates!! Don't spend that much time here anymore but it has (and continues to be) a great ride.

I think my best score was just bidding and winning, sight unseen, lot of 9 pies-Ludwig '65 Supra in mint condition and the vintage Franks DS trap case full of odds and ends.

Opened up the trap case to pull out the cymbals and scored a 20'' Turkish K from the 50's and just under 2000 grams. Also in the stack of pies was a 20'' trans stamp A that is about 1950 grams. Then I get to the smaller cymbals and find a nice pair of 60's 14'' Paiste hats. Also of minor note were 2 Zenjian splashes, a pair of Krut hats and a Paiste Ludwig 20'' pie which I've sold.

All from Denver Goodwill using shopgoodwill.com and including having a Postal Annex guy pick up the gear and ship it to me via Greyhound bus was under $500. Already paid for itself selling off another mint '66 Supra I had and most of the minor cymbals from this score :)

That was my best score to date.

Running to Hillsboro Goodwill as we speak to pick up my newest score.

I have 4 more once in a lifetime scores also but need to run... :D :D

Found it!!
