What the heck? funny C.L. drums. Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I thought it would be a great idea to have an add on CL asking people to sell me their old drums before they put them in garage sales or throw them away. I have had some success with this but then you get ones like this, take a look. Did Ludwig do this? Looks like Rocker lugs, b/o badge id good, but those legs, what?

WORLD'S UGLIEST DRUM SET--- KISS---SHAGADELIC !!!! LUDWIG - $700 (RICHARDSON)

Date: 2011-07-21, 4:01PM CDT

Reply to:

This drum set is kind of like a fat chick who's good in bed. OK it's not like that at all, maybe more like my beat up 93 Nissan pickup which works flawlessly. It has functional beauty.

Ok, so, what we got here, is, 1980 (approx, rounded blue/olive badges, 205xxxx) all maple Ludwig 8 piece set, sizes are 24" Bass drum, 10,12,13 & 14" single headed "concert" toms, 16 & 18" Floor Toms, 14 x 5 Acrolite snare. Finish is a brushed aluminum sort of look, with riveted seams, has some wrinkles around some of the metal pieces, but it's 100% original, difficult as that is to fathom. Small toms have attractive (not) aluminum trim strips along the bottoms, where the bottom heads should be.

Structurally everything is solid as a rock and complete, nothing missing, floor toms & snare even have the internal felt mufflers. Bass drum and bottom floor tom heads are original Ludwig heads. Toms have Pinstripes which have had the Christ pounded out of them. Speed King bass drum pedal, all Ludwig black knob stands, hard cases for all but the snare and 16, and a cymbal bag. Bass drum has large arc spurs, no tom mount on top, "virgin", (easy to see why). Also included, free vintage yellowed pillow in bass drum, untouched by human or sub-human hands since probably 10 years.

Cymbals are all 70's-80's Avedis Zildjians, very nice, 14" heavy hi hats, 20" ride, 16" Rock Crash.

So, grab these, tear off that barf that's on them, put some red sparkle or ANYTHING on there, and off you go. Single headed concert toms, yeah, boy, great if you're doing a Kiss, Alice Cooper , or Jackson 5 tribute band. You should wear a Mullet wig when you play these. Buy some lugs and make double headed toms, that would be the way to go. Toms have those dreadful foam Remo Muff'l rings in them, I'm just leaving it all "as found"

DISCLAIMER:

Not responsible for injuries resulting from convulsions you may have when you see these up close. And I must apologize because they look much better in the pictures than in real life. Everyone who's seen them has just burst out laughing. I mean, you know ugly? Butt ugly? Super Butt ugly? These are SuperUltraMegaExtraDouble Butt ugly.

They just need someone to love them. I pity the fool. Who'll take the lady with the skinny legs?

Email for close ups.
