What Ludwig Snare is this one?

Loading...

Hello

I just bought one Tama set with this strange ludwig snare.

I cannot find any help from google.

Everything seems to be like "from factory line", but.....

12 lugs, black interior, badge etc. etc.

Best regards from Finland

Vesku

ps. two extra holes are from no Ludwig strainer

It may be a Coliseum series snare drum from the mid 80's. Does it look like the drum in this link... http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/ludwig_snaredrums/1984_LUDWIG_SNARES4.jpg

Let us know!

+1.If you look at the bearing edge at about the ten o'clock position from the badge, you can see some red, which is probably the original color of the drum.

I think that one had a P-87 on it also at one point. The Collesium came with a choice of the P-85 or the P-87.Great drums.

I'm with my other two forum mates it has been painted by a former owner. the interior would originally have been clear interior from the factory.

Is the shell brass, steel or bronze?

Black on outside like a Black Beauty?

We need some more pics.

I'd agree that it's likely a Coliseum (12 lug 8x14 wood shelled snare) that someone has painted. Probably made sometime between 1980ish to 1983ish due to the B/O badge.
