Hey folks. This snare just came up on our local kijiji. I'm having trouble indentifying it. I think it might just be a bascic steel snare, but I don't know. Any info would be greatly appreciated, including an estimated value.
What kind of Ludwig is this?
70's Silvertone - 20,12,14, 14Sn Blue Sparkle
60's No Name MIJ - 20,12,14 Red Sparkle
70's Yamaha (YD?) - 20,12,13,16 Red Ripple
Looks like a Rogers Dyna with a Ludwig strainer. But Im probably wrong.
Thank you!

That's 70's vintage Pearl Jupiter model snare ,chrome over brass. Those are excellent snare drums. The strainer is a Ludwig P-85.Stewart Copeland used one of those, on lots of Police recordings, and it's part of his signature sound. For the right price,it's a drum well worth having.

The lugs do not look like the traditional Pearl style. They are a cross between Pearl where the lug meets the shell, but the rest look like a Rogers beaver-tail lug. Plus, the shell has a Gretsch style pattern on the shell.
I say, if it's a brass shell and it's low cost, get it.

Mystery solved. If only he had turned the drum a little more.
