Hello everyone! I am new to this forum and also new to the fine art of Drumming. I'm 53 years old and I currently have an 80's era Pearl Export series (that is currently driving my bride insane!)

I have always wanted to be a drummer and now that our children are grown, married and on their own I have a little spare time to enjoy something I have always wanted to do. I hope you all don't mind my elementary questions.

I have been collecting some old drum parts and pieces recently and ran across something that no one seems to know what it is and I was hoping one of you might know what it is and what it is used for.run across some hardware recently that I can't seem to identify and was wondering if any of you might know what it's use is.

What I thought odd about this bracket was that two arms are longer than the other two. at first glance I thought it was the top of a snare stand - but it opens to a flat surface and is threaded on the top.

What do you think it is???

A leaning cymbal stand. I forget who made it. Methinks Tama or Yamaha.

OR one of these ... http://www.wengercorp.com/stands/cymbal-stand.php
