I found this guy on Ebay and thought it would make an interesting addition to my collection. The seller found it at a consignment sale but was not able to tell me anything about it. It does not have a badge or any markings of a brand on it. The only thing I figured could help in identifying it would be the strainer. It's overall in very good shape with a few scuffs in the shell and some dirt on the rims.

I happen to be going through the marching snare thread and saw this pic, it belongs to member tdennis,...look at the wood, the lugs, and the strainer on that round badge !!

it's most definetly gretsch. all the hardware is gretsch, the snare strainer, the t-rods, the rims claws and the inside screws and washers are gretsch.

Here's a close variation of your snare from the Gretsch 1941 catalog. However, the Gretsch does not have post guides & states that the shell is 3 ply mahogany. Perhaps yours is a later version.
