Hey guys -

I've looked in the catalogs & can't find this wrap listed. Anyone know?

Thanks! Chris

That's where I'm confused. Looks too sher & shiny to me. Doesn't look like a rewrap either - Chris

small pic so hard to tell but if I didn't have any info, and just looked at the pic, I would say it wasn't a wrap at all but black vistalite instead

I'll post interior later - but they appear to be clear lacquer.

It looks like a well maintained Cortex to me. The pictures may not be depicting what you are seeing. It does have a really deep luster to it. I have a set of early 70's black cortex that cleaned up just like that, or at least I believe they did. I don't have good pictures of that kit that I can post right now.

I agree @ the black cortex. I believe all I noticed (until now) was the Black Panther from the catalogs - didn't get to the '75 cat. until little while ago.

Black Panther is a pebbly-grained naugahyde type fabric that is glued to the drum shell. It is similar, if not the same as, the fabric used to cover Fender amp cabinet and the many copies of those amps. Cortex is a counter top type of laminate sheet goods similar to the Formica brand of laminate. Cortex is a thicker type of sheet goods than typical drum wrap.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
