This band plays every couple weeks at the assisted living facility where my parents reside. This cat said he ordered this kit and has played it for more years than he can remember. He didn't like the hoop mount BD spurs so he replaced them some years ago. He ordered the metal hoops on the BD so he could mount his "traps" on them. It was nice to chat with him and he was happy that I recognized them as something special. :) Jumping2

Floor tom might of been a marching snare. Kit is rewrapped for sure.

I was thinking the same. Bass drum is a 20" and a 9 x 13 rack. Drum throne with wheels is never a good idea. Nice kit!

I guess the strainer on the Barrett Deems wore out/broke at some point.

Is the band comprised of people who live in the facility?

I don't think it is a re-wrap. He said he special ordered the drums in the sizes he wanted. He had upgraded some hardware along the way.

It is a group of about 20 musicians from the local community (they do not live in the facility).. old, young and in between.

Unfortunately my schedule has not made it possible for me to hear them play. I always seem to be leaving just as they are setting up.

My mom loves them... my dad is very sick but he is able to be moved to the community room to listen to a few tunes... mom says he responds to the music. Dad played drum in a little dance band before he left for the WWII. Very generous of them to come and play.

I beg to differ. Look at picture number two of floor tom. The seam is not correct, it's right in the middle of the lugs.

Wonderful set of drums...I love the fact that this drummer is still playing this set of drums that he's owned for so many years. The mahogany interior and the center lugs make for a great sounding instrument. Wish I could hear him play.
