WFL Cocktail Drum Question Last viewed: 17 minutes ago

Loading...

Has anyone ever seen a WFL cocktail drum like the one shown below? I have only seen them with a seam towards the bottom of the drum.

The two empty holes appear to be from a muffler (which are pictured in catalogue pages). They are located about 3-4" below the drum head which seems to be lower than standard muffler positioning.

The size is 16" x 23" by standard measuring practices (edge to edge) and the interior has reinforcement rings on top and bottom edge as well as around the center seam (measures 24" from hoop to hoop). It appears to be from a Stand Up "Nite Life" or "Las Vegas" model kit although the depth does not correspond to the 24" size listed in the catalogues. Both heads are calf skin, although the top one is busted. Mid fifties, I think?

Yes the seam is very common on these drums, you are missing the chrome trim piece that goes over the seam.As far as the two holes they are a muffler but they seem to be lower so this telling me that your drum is missing the inside snare wire shape like a fan...Your drum is from the mid 50's,-57-59....Mikey

Thanks Mikey. So where would the snare wires attach? On the muffler mechanism?
