My friends at Music Go Round (Troy, MI) just scored what appears to be a 1950's WFL 16x16 that is in need of some work to bring it back to life. Mahogany interior, 8 nickle lugs, wrapped w/ white countertop formica. it has 3 smallish holes drilled through the shell/reinforcement hoops which helped to hold the formica in place. There also appears to be a small hole drilled through the shell next to the missing badge. The formica seems to be attached w/ contact cement. The original color is unknown as is the outer ply condition (under the formica). The interior looks OK and is chalked w/ the number "16." The exposed bottom bearing edge need some regluing/clamping, but doesn't look horrible. The WFL spring tension floortom mounts and legs look original, but are heavily tarnished and rusty. The 8 lugs are tarnished. There's 1 unoriginal chrome triple-flanged hoop. Give Chris W. or Chris B. a call @ 248.585.9441 to discuss. $100. They're good guys--tell 'em Jay sent ya (I have a few more pix on request)! http://www.musicgoround.com/search.aspx?q=wfl&cid=8&scid=0&sid=0&z=&d=10&min=&max=&c=10&ob=6
