Hi, I have a vintage WFL drum set with a slingerland snare that I am looking to identify and get a ballpark price range. I was told it is from the 40s or 50s, possibly earlier. The WFL badge is on the bass drum and the slingerland badge is on the snare. I also have a bunch of hardware including cymbals, etc that were included.
I'm planning to sell to someone that does restorations and would like to include accurate information when I post.

Wow what a great kit it dates in the 1937 range the wfl's the slingerland snare drum is a slingerland professional model. your kit is in the 1200 to 1500 range.
Those hats look thin, Do you know what they are ?
Looks all there, is there a BD pedal ?

Bear with me here Oddball since I'm a guitarist not a drummer...
The high hats are really thin -- a drummer friend of mine was amazed how thin! They are marked "Avedis Zildjian Co Genuine Turkish Cymbals". I tried to take a photo but the imprint is hard to get clear...
I've also attached a photo of the hardware, cymbal, etc I have that came with the kit. There is a BD pedal and a Zilco cymbal as well.
Also included a photo of the throw off-level on the snare.

That throw is all there and will look new when cleaned, man you got a nice piece of history there. The one wire threw me.
Those Hats are special, thin and from the thirties,....wow. There are a few here that can date those hats by stamp alone. They may be close to the value of the kit to the right buyer.
Will they go with the sale ?

I was hoping to keep the whole set together and find a single buyer. But if that doesn't happen I would sell the high hats separate, etc. But it seems to be a fairly complete set (all 30s) and I think would be a cool restoration project for someone in the new year...
Would you price higher than $1200-$1500 because of the cymbals?

No I considered them to be zildjians, the snare drum is the prize in your kit the bass drum is a single tension model no as desirable as a double tension model. But with all the kit has 1500.00 is reasonable.
The stamp in the picture is referred to by some as a second stamp. Made between the time of the first stamps and the trans stamps. I think very late 30's/early 40's have been the time frame discussed on these.
