Vintage Slingerland Marching Drum

Loading...

From HalBlaineFan

The bottom hoop is cracked and broken on the snare butt side. You can't see it because the damage is under the claw...holding it together!

The wooden hoop on my old Slingerland marching drum had a split starting at the snare gate. After gluing it with Titebond II, sanding, and refinishing, you'd hardly know it was ever broken. If it ever re-breaks, I'll make the same repair, but I'll also drill it and insert a pin to hold the joint.

I have a Slingy Snare also and the bottom hoop cracked at the gate. Same as SkyDog. You can see the crack because the stain took to it better. Looks ok ,when together you can't see it.

Yeah, mine is broken at the snare gate. I just have to get the right clamps from my Dad so we can glue it. I'll try to post a pic or two later today. Thank for all the help Guys!!!!!!
