I realize that this is outside of the "drum arena" but I'm thinking that some of the drummers on this forum might also be vocalists and/or be knowledgeable when it comes to microphones. I've got a Sure 55SH microphone that I'm trying to date. I'm trying to find out whether it would be considered a "vintage" mic or whether it's a reproduction of an older model. If anyone can provide any information it would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Gary Shure does for sure make a reproduction in case you weren't aware of that.

Even if it's vintage it still isn't that valuable, they sale for about what you can get a new one for. Killer mics non the less. I use shure mics. they take a licking and keep on ticking, oh wait that's my timex, no wait that's right after seeing what Roger Daltry did to his sm58 all night long. here is a nice 50's model on ebay now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1950s-SHURE-Unidyne-55S-Dynamic-Microphone-Elvis-Mic-with-Cord-Serial-5638V-/350572175087?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519fbadeef
