Vintage Ludwig wrap question.

Loading...

What year did Ludwig stop putting the wrap within the scarf joint?

In other words, when did they start making the shells, then applying the wrap to the finished shell, rather than the other way around?

Was it during the three-ply era or later?

Searched the archives but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance for any info.

1968

Three-ply production ended in 1976. Some inventory was used after that so you occasionally see 3-ply drums after 1976, as well.
