Here are the pictures of my set.
Vintage Ludwig "Pattern F" to sell
So that is what that construction/pattern is called,I found a tom at a garage sale, same colors, only one I could remember seeing until I saw yours,I called it a two tone vistalite stave,Be careful if you take it apart to clean/detail,once the rims and heads come off the shells will move/shift or want to go out of round if not handled carefully, mine actually separated at the seam,I just pushed it back together and it was O.K.As far as worth, rare sometimes means more value sometimes not,but the originality/completeness, condition and the fact you have the original sales slip would make that a bona fide collectors kit IMO.So I would think they would bring top dollar to a vistalite collector, but I have no idea what kind of number that would be.There is an Italian collector of vistas that did a book,I think he had the most complete collection in the world at the time,if you could find an email addr on him he would be a good person to ask also.
I would say V.M. 2000 is right on the price for these..If the shells have no cracks around the mounts or under the lugs..I just did a trade for a set today in Pattern C-[spiral]- same color blue and white 5 pc set with matching snare the 12,16,22,14 snare have no cracks 13" cracked and piece missing..But still i think i got a great trade only cost me 2 Zild cymbals a 16'' and 18" crash's...Mikey
I am looking to sell my set of these. Same set-up, but the drums have some miles under their belt. A few slats seem to have separated at some point, and it looks like someone tried to glue them together, then someone braced a few with metal plates. The snare and the high tom are in near mint condition.
I have the original hi-hat and cymbal stands as well as the speed king pedal.
Any ideas on how much that would be worth?
I can post pictures later on this week.
