Vintage Gretsch Gladstone??? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

This was a hand me down from my grandfather who was a drummer for 50+ years and is now mine (a drummer of 10+ years). I know this drum is super rare if everything checks out... Buts that's the scare for me right now. A lot of it looks correct, but I also think it is missing a bunch of parts. It also has brass (yes brass) hardware, and I've never seen that on a Gladstone in all of my days of research. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know more and to do whatever it would take to get the drum as close to factory condition as possible.

brass hardware is normal it all looks correct. you have a sweet looking drum thus far,

Nice drum you have there. Is it possible to post more photos? One of the other end of the snare throw-off and another closeup of the throw-off you see in the photo here and some more of the drum from all sides and top?

It looks like a Gretsch Gladstone....the lugs.....the badge......the throwoff.

Maybe contact Chet Falzerano.....fb?

I see your concern regarding 'brass' hardware. The Gretsch-Gladstone snare drums (pg 28 in Chet's Billy Gladstone book) were offered in polished chrome hardware.....and for $5 more (unbelievable today haha) you could have Gold plated hardware.

I'm sure you can tell the difference between Gold and Brass.......but......it would be nice if the hardware on your drum was gold:)
