hey guys,

just picked this bad boy up, got the toms tuned up and they SING!

rare finish called Salmon Satin Flame

rare 14x14 floor tom!

stop sign badge early 70's kit, ALL DRUMS SOUND EXCELLENT! ive been through a bunch of vintage gretsch and honestly, most were dogs on tone, this is one of the nicest sounding ones ive had!

i was impressed at how high i could go on the 13", really sounds like a prog jazz kit!

i believe all drums came together as they are all identical to each other and the L arm rail is original.

excellent kit, players wont be dissapointed! could be collector's grade if you cleaned up the satin wrap.

only unoriginal part is the wingnut on the 13" Tom mount.

missing pratt muffler for kick, otherwise its all there and all original!

take this rare bird for a steal of $1400 + shipping!!

always fair pricing and satisfied clients!

let me know if you are interested

thanks!

" ive been through a bunch of vintage gretsch and honestly, most were dogs on tone" uhhhhhh??? ............dogs on tone? I don't know man, I bet there's some round badge Gretsch owners around here who would disagree.

granted they all sounded GOOD, but ones with mods or hard fitting heads were always a pain to 'dial in'. this kit is really easy to tune and totally sings!

Those pictures bring back bad memories, I had the exact set when I was 14, mine was the bright gold satin though, same sizes, my dad gave the set away, no one knew back then what these drums would be worth. then like father like son I did the same thing when I bought my 69 chevelle for $2100 when I was 18 and sold it 4 years later for $1200. the car was mint, just saw the exact car for $76,000. go figure, what an idiot I must be. Been there man. I feel your pain. Read my thread about my Gretsch Copper Mist kit. Ouch. Those salmon satin flame DRUMWORKS look spectacular!

I think most people would regret pulling the bottom heads off to turn a great sounding drum into a fantastically over-priced cardboard box but I doubt many people regretted updated mounting hardware. It was necessary to use the drums day in and day out. Face it, Gretsch hardware had a bad reputation and a worse reality. Resale value was not nearly as big a concern as a tom falling on one's kick drum in the middle of a gig.

Those salmon flame drums look great!
