Hi gang,
I hope I have figured out how to post pix. This is the first, as a test.

I see the photo! Do you have questions about those pedals?
David
I have a question, What is that thing in the middle?
The earliest foot pedal there is made of wood and was left to me. The other two I used at different times in my gigging career. I still use DW 5000 pedals, but this was one of the earliest. Did Camco get bought by DW, and isn't this a result of that merger? Anybody know? The other thing is a W&A throne back.
I know DW bought Camco drums but I thought Tama bought the hardware. That is definitely a Camco frame with a DW 5000 pedalboard. Homemade?, prototype? Where did you get it?
Wow that old wooden pedal is so cool!
Wow that's a early DW5000...Camco pedal w/DW stamped on it...they were probably only producing bass drum pedals during that period...anyhow that is a very nice pedal.
Boscoe and grezildwigland, I'm not too versed in drum company history. That
DW pedal I bought new a long time ago. Nothing homemade on it for sure. As far as the wooden pedal, the gentleman who left it to me was a vaudeville and silent movie pit drummer. These were the innovators who first realized they were going to need to use more than one limb to cop sounds, and they had to design and build the early gear. I am told there are earlier, more crude bass pedals, but that this one is very early. The beater can be removed by loosening a very small brass thumb screw.

Oh no, I never said your pedal was homemade, but that it is a early DW, back when they were still using real Camco stock. I have a Camco strap drive, that looks exactly like your pedal except for the drive. And, I'm no expert either, I just like old drums.
peace
I have a pedal that looks exactly like that DW 5000, except the text on my footboard says Camco. (I think the chain and sprocket on mine might be a retrofit, though.)
I love the feel of that pedal.
