Vintage Fibes clear acrylic kit

Loading...

Hey all! I'm a new member...I just recently picked up an old Fibes acrylic kit that I'm restoring...I'm trying to figure out it's value and age...it's just kick, rack, and floor (22, 12, 16) It has the Farmingdale, NY badge...I'm attaching a pic of the floor as it's the only I've finished and reassembled. Any help is appreciated!!

Jazzyfeel!

Can't really assess a value, but I CAN date these for you! There were FOUR different Fibes/NY badges during the Bob Grauso and then CFMartin ownership. The badge on your drums is the 3rd badge in the series, and that makes these Fibes Crystalite's from 1970 to 1974. A LOT of these date from around 1973 as Billy Cobham was responsible for the almost INSTANT popularity of the Fibes Crystalite/clear drums around this time, and many were built. I bought a 14X20, 8X12, 14X14, and 5X14 snare drum in Crystalite back in 1973 and played them for YEARS! ( never should have sold them... but who knew?! )
