Vintage BDP Clubdates hit the stage!

My motown/funk band played a small boat club tonight and this set seemed like the best one for the job. What a great night. I typically play a 22 inch bass and almost always more and larger toms. It was like driving a sportscar!

LOL - I feel the same way behind club dates! I'm getting too krickety to be carrying around a lot of gear. The last band I played with had a Ludwig Epic kit with a 22" and toms all over the place at the rehearsal space, at home I play a 22", but for gigs, I put together a stripped down set-up with a 13", 15", 20" Club Date kit at the heart of it. It was a 7 piece blues band, horns, harp, keyboard, the works. Mic'ed up, the Club Dates kicked a$$, and set-up and breakdown was a breeze for me. Took longer to set-up the mic's, than the drums. But, because of the kit size change at gigs, I always felt like I was towering over it. Like playing a child's drum set!

Very cool kit. I love BDP. It was a perfect set you chose for the music and the gig, good call.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Awesome kit. I use a silver sparkle Clubdate with the Blues trio I'm in. Quick set up and tear down and I can fit in very small clubs with no problem. Those 20" Clubdate kick drums sound awesome.
