Refinished, concert toms, mixed era hardware...probably worth a few hundred in parts. If it were my dad's I'd hold onto it.

No way these are refinished. Me pops wouldn't do it. He's had about 9 kits in the last 6 decades and probably 4 or 5 before that. Never did anything like refinish. He would just get a new one. Plus, when viewed up close, there's no sign of it. I'm tending to agree with ash as the wood. At close observation though, I don't see the refinish.
