Yes, it's possible this was always one kit. Mega-kits were all the rage in the 70's. Huge stage kits abounded. If the price is right, this looks like an original 70's Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl kit that has faded to a beautiful grey/silver. Those are probably 3-ply maple shells in there, look for reinforcement rings. If so,buy, buy, buy!John

I would try and get him down some, but if not it looks like a good deal to me.
