VDF Fundraiser?

I've been hanging around here soaking up info long enough to know this but does the VDF have a "regular" fundraising period?

I'm asking because I got an email saying basically that the forum fund drive was winding down. I was about to donate when I realized it was from another drum forum that I visit rarely.

Anyway, it got me to thinking about it so I popped over here and spilled 20 bucks into the donation jar. Is there a designated week or period of time that you guys use to get donations to keep this place up and running or by other means. When I was active on a mandolin site and would use the classifieds to sell an instrument I'd donate maybe 5 to 10 percent depending on the price I got so I'm guessing some guys do that here.

How does it generally work?

Donations are voluntary at VDF. I've never gotten a 'bill' or money request from VDF. The For Sale section is free for members to use, no fees, or charges for that. I'm due to kick in again, but I do try to send Dave a few bucks as many times a year as I can. Kicking something back when you make a sale is voluntary and something that some of us have discussed among ourselves. It's not only the right thing to do, it's the fair thing to do. I don't at all mind chipping in to help keep VDF open for all of us.

Thanks guys, I couldn't remember ever getting notice of a fund drive or the similar but as the years creep up I tend to miss more than I used to.
