Value of Slingerland Toms Last viewed: 1 day ago

Loading...

Hi all,

I apologise if I am posting in the wrong area but I am new to the site and wanted some idea of the value of a couple of toms that have been donated to the music charity that I represent. They are Slingerland, the drum shells are in good condition, however there are some rust spots on the chrome. The large tom isn't too bad, the smaller one has a bit more but nothing too drastic. The smaller tom is 10" wide and is 7" deep. The larger is 12" wide and 8 1/2" deep. Both are single headed toms and as you can see from the photo both have the original Slingerland Batter Head skins, does this increase the value?

If anybody could give me a guide as to how much they are worth I'd greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks

Clayton

Welcome to the forum, your posting in the correct area. your two slingerland toms are called concert toms due to only one side tuning, they look to be 60's models the badge is it black and gold or black and silver? they would sale in the $150.00 range for both drums on eBay.

Thanks, good to be here!

The badge is black and silver. I used the graph on this site detailing dates of when Slingerland drums made in relation to their serial numbers. My two have serial numbers of 316728 and 317735. I worked it out to about mid 70's, is that what you think?

As for the original skins, any value added in that?

your correct on the dates, after looking at the wrap better I had determined that also.

the original heads won't really help but it won't hurt the sale either, if they where in better shape it may add some value, the concert toms just aren't in vogue so much as they where back in the day and don't sale as well or for as much as a double headed tom would, you can list them For Sale here on the forum in the For Sale section if you like,

Thanks again for your help, I'll mention your site to some of my drummer friends.
