Value of Oaklawn Badge Camco Snare? Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Loading...

Hello Folks,

I have owned this snare for about 10 years now but have not been using it as I have a DW aluminum that I prefer.

It does not have the original strainer, it has a Ludwig P85 strainer (not sure what era)

The drum looks as though it used to have a wrap and has been refinished.

I am thinking of selling this drum but I am unsure of what to ask for it.

This is not meant to be a for sale post....I am just looking for sage advice on what would be a fair price to set this at.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Looks to be a mid-late 60's Oaklawn snare. You are correct as I can tell from the splay of the rods that your drum once had a wrap on it. It appears that they never touched the badge as the grommet looks to be original. The original white paint on the interior has also been sanded down to reveal the maple wood. Because the grain where the outer ply butts up against itself is not that pretty, Camco would have definitely used a wrap on this drum. Butt plate is incorrect and there is a grommet in place where the key holder would have been. Obviously there are extra holes from the Ludwig strainer but the hoops appear to be original. My initial thought would be around $350 at the top end.
