the blue oysters seem to bring a premium these days. a nice mid 60's pioneer recently sold for a little over 500 bucks.

condition means everything in price usually. i still think a nice jazz festival is a 400- 500ish dollar drum.

I'd agree with Mike's 400-500 range, maybe a bit more due to the "Ringo Effect" but Oyster Blue is NOT Oyster Black so it isn't worth as much as the black ones.

As a Ringo guy IF I had the money I'd probably be willing to spend a crazy amount for an oyster Black Jazz fest...but have no reason whatsoever to do so for an oyster blue one as it doesn't fill the void in my collection any more than a WMP one would (well maybe a little better). I think this same feeling would apply to most collectors looking to complete a Ringo set.

A lot of people ask for a lot for oyster Blue Jazz fests (apparently based upon seeing what Black ones can bring) but I haven't seen any of them actually sell for those high dollar amounts.

again here we r being drum appraisers no wonder the deals are gone LOL

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I have had only 2 of those in 26 years...so I would say they are actually more rare then Oyster black....

Have had at least 4 Oyster Black JF's I recall....
