well one just like it was for sale here a while back, that's all im saying, with jazz fest not to many around with a fest! it was at 1.350 last negotiation ....i almost bought it

Gary - That's the same ball-park I was playing in when I offered my estimate of value. That's the price-range I see over and over for these kits. $2500 just sounds sky-high to me, but Chris and others are getting those numbers for these kits. So pass the salt and I'll eat my own words. You have to defer to actual, current sales experiences.

$2500 it is then.

From Purdie Shuffle

Chris - I haven't sold anything on ebay in awhile so I'm surprised to hear how much these kits have appreciated. Between you, me and the wall, I still wouldn't pay $2500 for -any- club date kit even if it came with 24k gold plated hardware!I'm really glad to hear you report the great prices you're getting for your stuff. I have a couple of rare CDs in-stock and it's good to know my investment is safe for now anyway. Thanks for response. I learn something new here every day...JohnPS - I recently acquired a (pre-serial number) Black Galaxy Club Date kit w/4"x14" matching Downbeat snare. If guys are getting $2000+ for standard wraps, my blk. galaxy is worth a lot more than I estimated in my own head. Maybe I should insure them!

John -

K - saying if you put the effort into professionally detailing a kit (not many are too keen on doing this, btw) & get it close to original condition there's a small market there. A lot of times that means shipping internationally - which requires a special kind of brass you-know-what.

Your black galaxy sounds like a cool kit. Enjoy it.

I knew when I posted that I could be starting trouble 'cause this ****e's in black-&-white. I bet if we were all sitting in a booth with beer between us we'd be having a damn good laugh.

Peace! Chris

I have seen this set in person and the seller has taken some creative photos, leaving out the fact that every drum has a big drilled hole through it. I was checking out the set for Marko52 and can post the pics of all the holes if anyone needs. The craigslist ad has a number of photos and conveniently the seller has neglected to show even one of the drilled holes. He took the clean side, or strategic angles in every shot

All that trim is in great shape. It almost looks like it was put together on spare shells.

very nice guy on the phone, but never once mentioned any holes at all...and didn't want to talk about it when I started asking him. He started out at $1800 and now at half that almost. Here is the ad with the pictures. I asked him why he didn't post any pictures of the holes and his answer to me was..."I'm only allowed so many pictures, and I couldn't take a picture of everything"

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

the kit I posted is the same one the OP posted...did you see another one? or this one? This one had pretty much no fade. The wrap was near perfect except for the holes. The 12, and jazzfest had COB rims, but the 14 was COS
