Update on my vintage Gretsch cocktail outfit.

I think that I may have completed my Gretsch cocktail outfit upgrade. I now have a little set that I can play either standing up or while seated. The 14"x 24" cocktail drum began life with only a top head. I converted it to a two headed drum. It came to me with a matching 5"x 8" bongo tom, a 12" A Zildjian splash cymbal on a "Z" shaped cymbal arm, and another aftermarket accessory mount. I bought an inexpensive 6"x 10" snare drum that I wrapped to match the other two drums with some remnants given to me by a friendly forum member. I used the existing aftermarket mount to hold a cowbell. Today, I installed another mounting bracket and a new "Z" shaped cymbal arm for a ride cymbal. right now, I have a heavy 16" ride on that mount.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Shouldn`t the double stacked Cocktail kit have a reversed BD pedal too ?

Are you gonna go that route ?

I do have a few pedals that will reverse. I didn't include the pedal I'm using with these drums in these pictures. Here it is. I love the feel of this Leedy X-L. It's very similar to older models of the Ludwig Speedmaster pedal. I have a couple of those Ludwigs and a Gretsch Floating Action that can also be reversed to use with cocktail drums. This pedal does not move around if the drum and pedal are on carpet or a throw rug. I'm working on designing a wooden plank with holes for two of the drum's feet to fit and a flange (metal? wood?) for the pedal to clamp on as if it was a bass drum hoop.

i never saw an actual photo of the red post. I`d go with that one because it matches the cowbell.

That way the carpet will match the drapes.
