I have a 1985 pearl export series deep force 5500 set and am looking to figure out the size of the tuning rods of the bass drums. Does anyone know what size they are or can you point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pearl uses a proprietary size for the bass drum rods, which is 6mm. "Standard" tension rods used on American made drums are 12-24 threaded, which is listed as 5.8mm for Pearl drums. Pearl does use standard threaded rods for all their toms and snare drums, but continues to use the slightly thicker 6mm rods for bass drums. You're best bet is to look at places like eBay or check online from sources such as Interstate Music.

Hope this helps!
