So, I am working on buying a Speedfire. I'm excited, since they seem to be pretty hard to come by, but I have never actually heard one played!
Does anyone here have a Speedfire? I'd love to hear a recording of it, if it is available.

Kevin. I'm a Trixon player, 1965 Conical Telstar Set.
Keep something in mind before you buy a Speedfire. If you ever neeed a bass drum head, it will cost you a pretty penny. At least with my Telstars, the heads are all normal sizes and I can run down to Guitar Center if i need a head. You wont be able to do that with the SF bass drum....just something to keep in mind.

Have a 20" bass drum and 13" rack tom with some tom hardware..
In pink sparkle...has the mufflers inside..
Missing some basic pieces...

Probably a dumb question, but where do you measure exactly for the head size?
I think they only made one size. THE size.
according to Trix on Trixon:

Finally got the Trixon Speedfire kit. It is a bass drum and mounted tom.
Just curious- it has the original calf heads on it, but they are busted (someone decided to take some mallets to them). Is there anything that can be done with them?
