Trash Or Treasure

As I was out "treasure hunting" earlier today I happened to run across a 70s Slingerland kit in what appeared to be in some sort of solid "eggshell" wrap. The kit included a 24" bass drum, 13" & 14" toms on a separate Set-O-Matic stand, 18" floor tom and a metal Japanese snare. The gentleman also had a couple of old beat-up cymbals and a few stands in pretty poor condition. I did a little research but couldn't find a kit in these sizes with the toms on a separate stand. I was wondering if Slingerland actually manufactured one in these sizes during the 70s?

More than likely I could get this kit for a little over $200. Although I have absolutely no need for another kit (just ask my wife!) I thought I'd get some input as to whether it might sense to grab it simply for the sake of flipping it sometime down the road. In other words, do you believe there might be a decent amount of Slingy lovers out there who might consider purchasing a kit in these sizes at the right price? Any "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

What exactly do you mean when you say eggshell? Like off white in color or what? I could potentially be interested in a kit in those sizes

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

My worst scenario is that I'd end up keeping them which I don't want to do under ANY circumstances.

The floor tom alone is worth the price, i'd jump on them! Sounds like a good rewrap candidate. I sold a similar config rewraped in green sparkle about a year ago for $800.

If these are 5 ply drums I'd be on em like flies on s(poop)

I have a late 70s set in solid white that is my main giggling set. I'd love to expand it with more drum/setup options. (hint hint)

I'm totally CLUELESS when it comes to figuring out plies. All the drums have the black & silver badges and no tone controls. The interior shells are natural wood with no reinforcement rings. I imagine that shipping a kit this large would be quite expensive.
