Took close to a year but I got 'em Last viewed: 1 minute ago

Hey guys. These were advertised here in January of this year. I think I was the only member to contact the op (in Albany NY) about these drums and cymbal. I emailed him about every couple months until we settled on a price and I felt like a 6 hour round trip.

The Kick and rack tom (14x20 and 9x13) were a set and the 2 16x16 FT's were added later but all are mahogany shells with the fat bearing edges. Cymbal is 22" Zildjian that looks to have a '50's stamp but I'm guessing as it's hard to see.

Also the wrap and hardware are super clean with zero pitting on the metal. One FT is slightly yellowed but barely. The heads are mismatched so I'm going to put new ones on this week.

So how are you going to fit them all in the car next time you come to my place? :p

Finally! The Slingy's! You talked about the kit so much the last couple of months that I was beginning to think the kit didn't really exist, like an imaginary girlfriend. LOL

It's a Classic beauty, Mick and well worth the wait. You did real good!

Congrats,

John

Too many great drums to list here!

What is more classic than a one-up, two-down in WMP? No matter what brand, this configuration is always an eye-catcher. Great acquisition and congrats. That bass head looks like it's the original.

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. These are the first older drums that I got that don't need any repairs. I got new tom heads yesterday (Evans G2 for batters and G1 for resos all coated which are Evans equivalent to Remo Emps and Ambassadors) and I'll give the drums a nice clean/shine when I install the heads. I'm not sure what to use for polish or wax but I have a brand new can of old style Simonize that I might try since it should be good for the wrap and the hardware.
