Tips on getting a 15" and deep NOB drum tuned up Last viewed: 5 hours ago

Loading...

I picked up a deep 15" old brass snare. I have a coated Ambassador head on top with an Amb clear bottom head. Put wire snares on it, but I'm having a little difficulty getting it sensitive. It's a big drum, so it won't ever be as crisp as a 14". I have it cranked pretty tight. Any ideas on what to try?

My GO TO snare wire for vintage snares. Gives a great sound with little extra buzz.

Personally I'd go with a coated control sound by remo or a vintage ambassador with a moongel or two. As for the snare side...idk I'd play around with a thicker snare side or a coated diplomat.
