I'm thinking the double tom mount on the BD is not factory. I think it should be on the other side of the logo closer to the reso head and the second rack tom has been refinished, it doesn't seem to match up with the other drums. That being said it's still a great looking kit in a rare finish.

Hold on a minute, I thought you said Rogers didn't make stained kits back in the 60's. This one looks a lot like the one I posted about the Rogers drums, could the one I'm looking at be the same model?

Not a stained kit, Wildwood is a veneer of wood dyed using colored spikes in the ground around the tree. Offered by Rogers for only one year, the twin toms are a common config for those drums, but as noted, the mount is in a different spot. No other holes though, and the install does look original, probably done by the dealer.

The snare is the really rare bird...

Wildwoods in 67, only one year. Dyed grain of various colors. This was done in the tree, not as a wood stain.

Okay, You guys knew I'd do this, huh... :)

1967 Vintage Rogers Wildwood Drum Set/Kit w/ matching Powertone Snare - $2100 (Farmington Hills, Michigan)

Extremely rare 1967 Rogers Wildwood Drum Set, 20 x 14 kick, (2) 12 x 8 rack toms mounted to kick, 16 x 16 floor tom, 5 x 14 Powertone Snare, matching. Wildwood finish colors have faded a bit, but still a beautiful natural wood finish. Flat grey interiors with Dayton tags, except one of the rack toms has a clear lacquer interior. Rogers experts have told me that this is not unusual to the period. These drums are so rare because they were only made for one year. This model of Rogers drums was most notably used by Al Jackson Jr. while drumming for Otis Redding at his amazing landmark performance at the Monterrey Pop Festival. Some scratches on the finish, and wear on the hardware, but not bad for a kit of this vintage. Ready to gig right out of the box! Matching Powertone snare has less fading, with vivid green, black, and orange colors in the wood finish. These snares run $800 - $1000 alone. Because of the rarity of this kit, it is suitable for any collector as well, even with the minor cosmetic issues. More pics available, just ask, including the extra rack tom. I have only played the kit as a 4 piece, so don't have pics of the whole 5 piece setup together at this time, but can email them if interested. Add this one to your collection now! Price is firm, and definitely reasonable for this one! Did I mention that beside rarity, they are amazing sounding thanks to being the only Rogers Drums from this era that don't have a wrap to cut the resonance of the thin maple shells, but rather are covered with a thin beech veneer layer that has been dyed using dye spikes placed around the beech tree in the ground as it was growing. Thanks for looking!
