The Young Rascals

I found this footage of these guys and since they were brought up in another post of mine, I thought I'd start a new one on them. Dino Danelli is a great drummer and he looks a bit like Sir Paul.

Dino Danelli is one of my favorites...and Eddie Brigati?

Man! that guy is a monster!

The voice, the fancy footwork, the songs that guy has written?!?!

Not to mention he plays the hell out of the tambourine.

So freakin' good.

Back in the day, learning to play "Mickey's Monkey" a la Rascals provided me one of my biggest breakthroughs in independency on the set.

Dino was, and is, my biggest influence by far!

Another very solid and performance with great showmanship and big bass drum sound. Also, did you notice the tip of their hats to Bobby Ray Bland 'Turn on Your Love Light' towards the end? Very nice.

That camera work made me dizzy!

What a fresh live performance. Any band like this today would make millions. Sad that most younger bands today are lacking creativity.

p.s. This was a Smokey Robinson tune correct?
