once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Wow this is pretty interesting thanks! Makes me wonder what other drum gear has sold for? Like from Bonham, Ringo, Rich, Krupa and all the other greats. I know much changes hands in private and is hard to track I'd think. Still would be fun to know. And where things have been found from these guys. I wonder if the guy selling the Ludwig BR kit from his Harry James days ever sold and was verified as the real deal. Thoughts anyone?

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

How was a Keith Moon kit, in use for two whole years, not smashed into bits and shards?

From DownTownFarmer

How was a Keith Moon kit, in use for two whole years, not smashed into bits and shards?

Good point. They always threw their gear around from the start of the bands career. It was part of the act. The kit should be well banged up. Although I don't think drum shells smash up as such. They just bounce around a lot.

Moon`s would be a little bit more of a score VM2K,....It survived. All of John`s and David`s are expected to live,....not Kieth`s......

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Bit of a head scratcher at first. Since Moon had moved on to double kits by 68 according to available timelines I figured it had to be part of a bigger kit. So it seems that this 5 piece kit was a portion of his full Champagne Silver kit (chrome wrap?) , which was sold first via Sotheby's and subsequently resold for the record setting price by Christie's. The sales figure does wobble a bit according to where you look.
