Or is it possible that the kit is a very faded champagne sparkle? Lets see the under lug pics!

Could be. But I'm more to very faded silver sparkle. Answer is under the lug.

Strip 'em my friend! :)

I once had a perfect match 15" tom to my 22/12/13/16 Rogers silver sparkle B&B kit. Amazingly that under the lugs the 15" tom was actually gold sparkle but had evenly faded to a perfect silver sparkle!

My set is almost the same under the lugs. No big fading.

A mistake at the wrap factory is my best bet!

what year are yours? have you checked closely to make sure they weren't rewrapped at some point?

If your wrap is the same under the lugs as it is on the rest of the drums, then you have a 'champagne' sparkle kit, which most non-drummers would call 'gold' colored. Your newer floor tom is 'gold' sparkle, which most non-drummers would call 'orange'. Two different wraps; not a factory error. My 2c....marko

one usual identifier for champagne sparkle would be the evidence of various color sparkles that it his. the silver sparkle or gold sparkle would only be one sparkle color. champagne has a few.

And is that an XLR cable coming out of your cymbal mount?

My set is 1965 bd, 1966 toms and the orange one is 1967. Definitely not champagne sparkle because it would be more like sand color, brownish. My set is kind of real gold color, yellowish.

Yes, there is a XLR cable going through a lug hole for a mic.
