Ok,
So, maybe this is the wrong place to post...I have no idea...so, be gentle! lol
Here's the deal...I was given a set of 1990 Ludwig Rockers (the type with the natural finish on the inside, modular mounts, old standard lugs (that snap off!) in power sizes...as a graduation gift right out of high school around the year 2006.
When I got them, the wrap had split and was bubbled in places...they were originally wrapped in white marine pearl.
I cleared the wrap off, sanded, and stained the shells... they were supposed to be sangria red...and came out in this strange orangey/pink color. In my haste and lack of maturity/experience, I managed to ruin most of the black and white badges, and I managed to get stain gel inside the shell...and I managed to use a crappy clear coat product that has now officially started chipping off...
The kit is a large one...here's the sizes:
X2 24x16" Bass Drums
8x9" Tom
10x10" Tom
10x10" Tom
12x11" Tom
13x12" Tom
14x13" Tom
16x16" Floor Tom
18x16" Floor Tom
and of course I have the mounting arms and etc...
Here's the next part...I used them a lot, I have repaired/replaced the lugs on several occasions, made them work as long as I could...I've planned and plotted restoring them/rebuilding them...but I just don't know if the cost/time will be anything I can put into them...anytime soon...
But to be honest...I'm ready to part with them... anyone know roughly what the value would be, or if I could even get them sold? I can post pictures later, as I'm at work and don't have any photos with me. Would it behoove me to sell them on here?
Or for that matter...thoughts? I have several reasons for wanting to part with the kit...but most of it is the upkeep/maintenance/restoring costs...
They do sound good...they are LOUD...and it's been a good kit that I've used on probably a hundred shows...
So...advice/comments/thoughts?
Please and as always, thanks!
