That's great, it's a start. Maybe he'll trickle them back to you the same way I got my first "set", you know, bass drum for b-day, snare for xmas, etc.... Seriously though, doesn't sound like he'll be using them anytime soon, especially with no cymbals, so maybe you'll get em sooner than either of you thought. Good luck, but in the meantime I'd go get another kit for you, and for your daughter to learn on.

You know, after all the responses, no one asked what this kit is! Is it some rare desirable finish like mod orange or bop, something like that? Maybe if you were to get the same kit and trade it back he would go for it. Soooo, what finish is it?

It was a set of 1968 Pearl Ludwig's, 4 piece kit, bass, mounted tom, floor tom and snare. All the shells had the dates on the inside. They were beautiful!

Great to hear he called you back. You never know - you might end up with those drums some day - it does sound promising.

I like the cymbal chapter too - way to go! Group Hug haha

Pearl is a wide catagory. Wmp,bmp, bop, pop and then all the glitters were sometimes called pearl.

I guess I worded that a little odd......I based the "Blue Pearl" description on what I have found on here. If you look in the drum set pages, my set was exactly like the one on page 4, top row, second set in. That is the exact color....what is the proper name of that wrap??

Offer him three grand and see if he is "not planning on selling them right now"......

I had this nailed a month ago brother. Good luck and I wish you the best in getting those back, but I seriously doubt it will happen for less than a major overpayment. Hopefully, while you were blasting me for offering the only accurate response you got to your post, you were at least considering the possibility of what I said, which was truly my intention to begin with.

have a wonderful evening
