Does anyone know how or where I can get some touch up paint for a candy apple red 1986 Tama superstar. I know it is a lacquer but it just has to cover a small chip. Would car paint work maybe? Thank you
Any local hobby shops or arts and craft store? Testor sells a lacquer in small spray cans. Made to paint wood pinewood derby cars. Also most have choices of enamel model and other craft paints. You might have to color match if you can't find something exact. For a small chip it might be fine? Dupont sells a candy apple red lacquer but it's a 3 part deal (base-color-clear) made for spray guns. Looks like the smallest qty is a quart for about $20. It might pay to have something pro mixed to keep for future touchups if this kit is a keeper?
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Here's the Testors product. You really need to view colors in person though. So don't pick color off the computer as it's RGB based and everyones is different! Trust me here. LOL.

Very good, I did not think Tama would make anything aftermarket so this will have to work. Thank you very much.
Go to Walmart and look at the nail polish.
It is Lacquer in a small bottle with LOTS of colors to choose from...
