Somebody needed to sell a kit so I gave them $200 for it. It doesn't seem they even make these drums anymore.

Anybody here have experience with a Tama Stagestar kit?

I have never owned any Tama gear... you think I stand a chance of getting my $200 back out of this kit on flip? Maybe it is worth hanging on to??

I'm going over tomorrow and picking it up.... just curious what I might find.DOH

Thanks,

Jim

Well this will be OK.. I might hang on to it for a bit. It's a inexpensive little bop kit. 18" bass drum, 10/12 mounted toms, 14 floor and a 13 inch snare.. all hardware.. no cymbals.

The family I purchased it from didn't know the sizes... I was kind of excited to see it.

It just dawned on me that I played a kit just like that at a gig last winter where the kit was provided. It was a good little kit. Well worth twice what you paid for yours. Good score!

I have one in blue and gigged it a few times. The bass drum actually sounds good. The small tom will tune great off the holder, but once it's mounted, the life gets sucked out of it. The other toms sound good too.

Played only indoors in small spaces though. I made a riser for it and use a gibraltar flexible beater.

I payed $100 for the shells and holder and floor tom legs.

Gig'ed them Friday with my Rogers Tower snare behind them... nice little kit. That Tama snare is not much to talk about compared to the Tower. :)

A great kit for the money spent! I've no doubt that using the Tower snare drum made it a pleasure to play!
